The WRA was formed in March 2001.

The main aims of the Association are:

To provide sector representation to Government and regulatory authorities

To disseminate advice and guidance on subjects relevant to the sector

To create the climate for member companies to maximise business and commercial opportunities

To provide a forum for the exchange of information between members

To promote the wood recycling industry
